Located in the heart of Boston’s Financial District, this commercial rooftop pergola installation at SimpliSafe’s headquarters redefines what an urban outdoor space can be. In collaboration with AIA Interior Architects, Boston Pergolas transformed the roof deck at 100 Summer Street into a year-round corporate amenity space that seamlessly blends design, technology, and functionality.

 

This custom-built StruXure pergola features automated louvers equipped with weather sensors that respond to wind and rain—automatically adjusting for optimal comfort and protection. Integrated electric heaters and LED lighting ensure the rooftop remains usable in all seasons, day or night.

 

Beyond performance, the pergola was finished in a realistic woodgrain powder coat, created at StruXure’s advanced finishing facility, offering the warmth of natural wood with the durability of aluminum. Custom-built planters with integrated bench seating were added to create a welcoming environment that balances greenery with clean architectural lines.

 

The result? A smart, beautiful, and multi-functional outdoor workspace that enhances employee wellness, maximizes square footage, and sets the bar for future-focused corporate amenities in Boston.
